Open directories in Phiewer directly with the open dialog. You can also drag directories directly into Phiewer or onto the Dock icon. Or right-click any image or video file and select "Open With" → "Phiewer". Individual files will be opened without the contents of the surrounding directory.
Use arrow keys or swipe gestures to browse through your media. You can also use the arrows in the toolbar.
Press ⌘, to open settings. Under Keyboard Shortcuts you can view all available shortcuts and assign them as desired in the PRO version.
If you're experiencing issues with Phiewer, resetting the app often solves the problem:
This will reset all settings to default without deleting your files.
Try these solutions in order:
Phiewer supports over 70 file formats including images, RAW, videos and audio. Check the "Supported Formats" section below to see if your file type is supported. If you believe a supported file isn't displaying correctly, please contact us with the file format details.
Phiewer PRO includes all features from the lite version plus:
Phiewer supports RAW formats from all major camera manufacturers including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica, Hasselblad, Phase One, and many more. See the complete camera list below.
macOS allows renaming the default Finder color tags (such as "Red" or "Green"). While the color remains visible in Finder, macOS only provides third-party apps with the tag name, not the associated color information.
Phiewer therefore displays renamed color tags as text but cannot assign a color and shows them in a neutral (gray) style. This is a macOS limitation and not a bug in Phiewer.
Note: For reliable color display, we recommend not renaming the default color tags or using additional regular (colorless) tags.
